Asian American Activists That Changed History

The study of history provides us with an endless font of knowledge and experiences that we can use to help shape a better future. We believe it essential to recognize the Asian Americans who made a mark on our history but who remain largely unknown. We call these people activists because they fought against the systemic injustice of their times. This art installation features the portraits of twelve activists who represent some of the diversity of Asian Americans who have brought political and social change in U.S. history. Through this art, we invite you to delve into the lives of these activists to understand who they were, what they did, and what they symbolize. We believe that by learning about their struggles and triumphs, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the contributions of Asian American activists to U.S. history.
