Description of Yoga Classes
Beginner Yoga – This class is based on Hatha yoga posture, which is the foundational and categorical name for all yoga. Hatha yoga is suitable for everybody and for all ages. This class emphasizes on alignment and breath for each pose. You will learn how to get in and out of a pose with ease and comfort. Gradually, your body will become supple with each practice. You will discover your edge as you practice yoga more often and can comfortably challenge yourself in each practice.
Chair Yoga – In this class, we adapt most of the Asana postures from yoga to be a full body experience. These practices boost energy, enhance circulation, and improve flexibility ad mobility. With instruction on Pranayama (breath), we move slowly and carefully into the entire body and with the support of a chair.
Gentle Mindful Yoga – Gentle Mindful Yoga is about calming the busy mind, and increasing awareness. We practice this, so that we may respond to life’s more challenging moments with grace and ease, rather than reacting negatively to them. *This class is good for beginners and anyone who wants to cultivate awareness in their yoga practice. [These classes were offered from Oct. – Nov. Please request this class by emailing Director if you would like to see it on our regular schedule again.]
Morning Yoga – This is a beginner yoga class for anyone who is starting out to practice yoga. In this class, you will explore poses that will help align with your heart. You will find opening in the shoulders, hips, hamstrings in this mindful practice of yoga class series. This series will awaken your senses and help you find more ease throughout your day.
Relaxing Hatha Yoga – Relaxing Hatha yoga is designed to help you relax, unwind, and let go of all the tension and stress that has built up in your body throughout the day. This class will include breathing techniques and postures that help the body to release tension in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips. You should try this class if you want to slow down your mind and relax your body.
